Music Appreciation introduces the students to a wide range of music. The program centers on Western music beginning with an overview of its development from liturgical music in the early Church through the classical period of the 18th and 19th centuries. The beginning of early “popular” music is traced through the late 20thn century and the beginning of the 21st century, using an associative method. Students are continually challenged to discover and discuss both similarities and differences between various recordings.

Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School offers Music classes to interested students of grades 4-8.  The Music Program is in session every Monday from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
