The Art Program focuses on the students’ attention to the physical world surrounding them and ultimately, aims at developing powers of observation and understanding. Students are taught that any likeness, any place, any one thing, can be rendered with clarity and emotion but only if its structure, dimension, and surface quality are understood. The program aims at developing the mechanical skills involved in drawing; the ability to accurately put down a line and/or a tonality on paper in order to create a likeness. We believe that by combining mechanical skills with imagination, the student finds a unique power of self-expression.
